Free Amazon Prime Membership for Students

I’ve seen this deal posted everywhere, but I just kind of ignored it because I’m not a student anymore. Then this morning it clicked–”Duh! Many 20 somethings are students.” So for those of you still working hard in school, I thought I’d pass this along.

Amazon.com has a new program called Amazon Student. This program is totally free for students and comes with some great benefits:

  • E-mail alerts for exclusive deals and promotions
  • Amazon Prime free for one year ($79 value)
  • Unlimited FREE Two-Day Shipping on textbooks and millions of other items (No minimum order size)
  • Upgrades to One-Day shipping for $3.99/item

To sign up you need to provide your school email (.edu), the state you attend school, your academic level, and your major. Also you need to have an Amazon.com account, but you can easily sign up for that as well.

This is worth signing up for the free shipping alone, especially if you need to buy a lot of text books (I bought nearly all of my textbooks off of Amazon.com and a few off half.com & ebay. Much cheaper than the campus bookstore).
