Happy New Year!
As the final hours are ticking down to 2010, I wanted to wish all of my readers at Happy New Year!
This past year has been a challenge for me financially (losing my job and what not), and I know I wouldn’t have been able to survive without my thrifty ways and the tips I’ve garnered from the other bloggers I read. I hope my posts have been as helpful to you, my dear readers.
I plan for a great year ahead, with more freebies, money savings tips, and ways to make extra money. Hopefully you’ll stick around, maybe even subscribe to the RSS feed so you don’t miss out on anything.
So Happy New Year everyone! I hope we will all be happy, prosperous, and thrifty throughout 2010!
(Also, sorry for the lack of posts since I returned to Chicago. The boyfriend caught a cold while I was gone and promptly passed it on to me when I returned. It’s not the worst, but it’s enough to kill my energy and motivation. I hope to be up to full speed soon.)
Condoms and Lube: Free Samples and Coupons 12/09
This is something I’ve posted before that’s been quite popular, so I thought I should do an update since these free samples come and go so quickly.
I believe all of these offers require that you be 18 years or older to qualify.
If you cannot afford condoms or need advice regarding sexual health, I highly recommend Planned Parenthood. Depending on the location (and your age/income), you may be able to get services and products for free or on a sliding scale.
All right, on to the free goodies!

As a fun bonus, Drugstore.com is giving away free Durex Play Vibrations Rings. They’re normally $3.99, but it’s automatically discounted to $0 when added to the shopping cart. Limit one. You do have to pay for shipping, but if it’s your first order at Drugstore.com and you spend over $25 you can get free standard shipping.
When I checked it out, the shipping came out to be $5.99, which was more than the cost of the ring in the first place. I would recommended ordering a few other items to get the free shipping.
If you know of any other freebies or coupons, let me know!

Coupon of the Future: Doesn’t expire until 2023
We all know I love coupons and I love free samples. I get a ton of free samples every week because I sign up for almost every single one I see. One of the things I love best about these samples is that they often also come with coupons.
Well, I was going through some of the coupons I’ve received with samples lately, clipping them out and putting them in my coupon folder, when I noticed something interesting.
In the beginning of November I requested a Dentek Floss Pick sample from Walmart (no longer available). It came in a little pouch with three floss picks and a coupon on the back.

When I went to cut out the coupon this past weekend, I realized that it doesn’t expire until 12/31/2023. Now, I’ve seen coupons that don’t expire for a year or two (even some that don’t have an expiration date), but this I’ve never seen. I have a good 13 years to save $1 on Dentek Floss Picks.

When I told the boyfriend about this he was pretty skeptical about whether or not Dentek will even be around in 13 years (neither of us had heard of the brand before). I think I’ll sit on this one for awhile and see how long I can wait to redeem it. Perhaps by then I’ll have a flying car and a personal robot that does all my shopping. Or maybe paper coupons won’t even exist then and everything will be digital!
Anyone else get any good coupons that don’t expire until the far future?
Gone for the Holidays
I hope everyone is enjoying their blisteringly cold December (or at least it’s horrifically cold here. Hopefully my readers all live in wonderful places where it’s 72 degree Fahrenheit 24/7).
Tonight I’m heading down to St. Louis to visit with friends and family for Christmas. I will be back Saturday, but until then, do not expect much by way of posts here. My main focus will be spending time with people I don’t see the rest of the year.
So while I’m gone, I hope that all of you who celebrate Christmas enjoy the holiday, and those who don’t, have a great week as well (and hope whatever holidays you do celebrate were joyful as well).
Everyone be safe, keep warm, and be happy.

25 Free Christmas Song MP3 Downloads from Amazon
Sorry I have no posted in awhile. I was fortunate to get a temporary job for the next few months and had training this week. So if there’s a lack of posts here and there, it’s because I am out there being responsible and making money, not being lazy.
How about some fun music freebies to kick of this Friday?
I haven’t posted about this yet, but it’s been going on since the beginning of December. Amazon is doing a promotion called 25 Days of Free, and each day through December 25th (Christmas), they’re adding a new free MP3 of a Christmas song to download. These are all either contemporary Christmas songs, or classic Christmas songs by Contemporary artists.

This is a fun and free way to jazz up your Christmas play list with something new. They’re adding a new song each day, so make sure to check in to see what else is available. The list will be complete on Christmas Day.
In addition to the 25 free songs, there are two Christmas sampler albums available for free download right now as well: X5 Free Classical Sampler and Sampler Claus
.
If you want more free music, or just aren’t in a Christmas-y mood, or don’t even celebrate Christmas, then you can still get a free MP3 fix at Amazon. Check out all the free MP3s and download anything that tickles your fancy.
Now, if this isn’t enough festive music for you, buy more holiday music at Amazon. Their MP3 prices are very affordable, and if you get some Amazon gift cards from Swagbucks, they could be completely free!
Still looking for the perfect gift for that impossible to shop for friend or relative? Think about an Amazon Gift Card. They can be spent on anything and ship via email, which means you don’t have to worry about them getting them in time for Christmas! You can order them today and schedule them to send Christmas Day or any other day you prefer.
If you know of any other holiday related freebies, feel free to post them in the comments, including links to your own blog.
Blog Disclosure Policy
You may have heard the FTC has made some new rules regarding bloggers and their responsibility to disclose to their readers when they’re receiving some type of pay or free products for their endorsement of products or services. I don’t entirely understand all the new rules and such, a lot of them are pretty broad, so I will just be straight with all my wonderful readers about what goes on behind the scenes here at t20s.
Up until this point, I have no received any free products, etc to review or promote on this site. I have never been paid to write a review. Every word I’ve blogged has been my personal opinion, based on my experiences. I have reviewed free samples I’ve received, but that is different, as I just requested a sample from some sample website. No one asked me to write those reviews.
I do try to make a little money off of this site. You’ve probably noticed some advertising here and there. I do post affiliate links from time to time. Any link I post is for product and services which I find to legitimate and somehow helpful to my readers. I never post anything for the sole purpose of trying to make a profit. Quality and honesty are my main goals when it comes to this blog.
I do often benefit from my affiliate links. For example: I am in the Amazon.com affiliate program, so anytime you may click on an Amazon link on my site and then buy something, I get a small percentage of that. Most other links pay for sign ups or clicks. I’ve never posted a link because someone has paid me to do it. I make very little money from this blog.
Like I’ve mentioned before, honesty is the most important part of blogging to me. The whole purpose of t20s is to share my thrifty ways and ideas to help other people my age live their own fun and thrifty lives. I appreciate all of my readers and hope you enjoy the content I provide.
If you ever have any questions about anything I’ve posted, feel free to comment or send me an email.
Give to Charities for Free with Just a Click
One of the best parts of the holiday season is helping those less fortunate than us. Sometimes that’s hard to do, especially when you’re trying to be thrifty or even struggling to make ends meet. So beyond dropping some pennies into the Salvation Army bucket outside your store or maybe donating your time to your favorite organization, there is another way to help benefit great causes, and it only takes a few minutes of your time.
Today I want to tell you about click to give websites. The concept is simple: you can go there once a day, click a button, and the advertisers on the resulting page pay the website. Then that money is donated to whatever cause is represented on that page. It’s easy. It costs nothing. You can do it every day, and it actually helps great organizations.
Check out some of the click to give sites available:
In addition to featuring shops where you can buy gifts that benefit their causes, you can also click to give for the following:
- Give food to rescued animals
- Save the rain forest
- Fund literacy
- Provide children with healthcare
- Give free mammograms to women in need
- Give food to the hungry
Care2.com features 11 different causes to support:
- Stop global warming
- Preserve the rain forest
- Save baby seals
- Save ocean animals
- Save big cats
- Save primates
- Help children in need
- Help homeless pets
- Stop violence against women
- Prevent breast cancer
- Protect Threatened Wolves
The Click to Give sites feature these causes:
Free Rice is a little bit different than the other sites–which makes it more fun. Instead of just clicking a button, you play a vocabulary game, and for every one you get right, 10 grains of rice is donated to feed the hungry. This is a great procrastination game, that not only builds your vocabulary, but does some good as well.
These are all of the click-to-give sites that I am aware of, but if you know of more, let me know.
Now, I don’t want you to become lazy and think that just by clicking each day you’re doing your part, because your not. Consider volunteering your time, money, or other resources to worth organizations in your area. Unfortunately, a couple pennies from some advertisements will not solve all the worlds problems.
