A Great Week in Thifty-ness
I post a lot of tips, offers, and opportunities on this blog with the hope that sharing my thrifty ways will help my readers to develop their own habits to save money and still enjoy life and having fun. To put it all in perspective, I thought I’d share how utilizing these tips in my life benefited me this week.
Freebies
I received a free sample of Eos’ organic sweet mint lip balm (unfortunately that sample is no longer available). I love this lip balm so much. I hate dry lips and I’m prone to them, so I’m kind of a Chapstick junkie. I think I’ll be switching brands now.
Another sample I got this week was Zyrtec OTC.
I bought four Snickers bars, for free, thanks to the coupons I received from Mars’ Chocolate Relief Act. (I am so sad that promotion is over)
I got to attend a free screening of the movie Whip It, which both the boyfriend and I enjoyed very much. If you have a chance to see this movie–especially for free–take it! It was funny, fresh, and original.
Last night the boyfriend and I saw local theater production for free thanks to Free Night of Theater.
This weekend we’ll be heading out to a museum for free thanks to Bank of America’s Museums on us.
Money Made
I earned $0.12 through Youdata, just for viewing advertisements. Sure it’s not a lot, but that’s free money that goes directly to my Paypal account.
This week I received a $5 check from Opinion Outpost and I have another $7 check on the way. I’m almost ready to request my next check–and this is all for surveys I’ve taken in the past two weeks.
I received my second $5 Amazon.com gift card from Swagbucks. I’ve been a member for less than two months and I’m impressed by how much I’ve earned just by using their search engine.
I earned $9.60 from Amazon’s Mechanical Turk by doing some hits in my free time.
Cheap Fun
Tomorrow morning, we’re going to head over to AMC to take advantage of A.M Cinema and see the new documentary Capitalism: A Love Store for only $6 (half the price of a normal ticket).
