Free Night of Theater October 2009

I love going to the theater. I’m lucky since I live in Chicago and have easy access to the whole spectrum of theater, from big Broadway productions to community theater. Unfortunately, it can get a little pricey depending on what show you’re seeing.

Lucky for me, and all of you, Theater Communication Group has a program called Free Night of Theater. The whole purpose of the program is to introduce new people to the thrill of live theater through free tickets to participating shows at theaters across the country.

Free tickets to theater shows? I’m in.

Unfortunately, it’s not available in all states across the country, but there are many locations to choose from. To reserve your tickets, just go here and select what city your interested in. All of the available shows (the majority are during the month of October) are already listed.

Some are available to reserve now. If they’re not available yet, the time and date the reservations begin is listed. Some shows are starting to sell-out, so make sure to get to the site as soon as possible to check out what’s available in your area.

Chicago tickets can’t be reserved until the 29th, so I haven’t decided what I want to see yet, but there’s some interesting shows to choose from. I’m excited to hear what everyone else signs up for.

ETA 9/29/09 You can only sign up for one show per person, so keep that in mind while selecting a show. Also, there is an option for people to cancel tickets if they find out they can’t go to the performance, so if a show you want to see is sold out, there is a possibility that tickets will be available again if someone cancels.
