Free Samples: Mario Badescu Skin Care Products.
Now this sample opportunity is fabulous. Mario Badescu, a salon and spa in New York that’s frequented by celebrities like Jennifer Aniston & Gwyneth Paltrow has a full line of skin care products and treatments for all types of skin problems.
I originally heard about Mario Badescu because they were offering free specialized samples of their products on the site. I took advantage of this a few years ago and then went back to the site recently to see if they still offered the samples. I couldn’t find them anywhere.
By doing a little googling I realized they still offer the samples, they’re just a little hidden. So I did a little test to figure out exactly how this works and can confirm that yes, there are still awesome samples available. Here’s how to get them:
Fill out the skin analysis questionnaire. It asks for your contact info and then some questions about your skin. When you finish it takes you to a page with personalize recommendations for your skin type and the option to buy them. To get the samples, don’t buy anything.
Soon after you’ll get an email (it was 2 days for me) asking if you’re interested in receiving some samples of the products from the recommended regimen for your skin type. Just go to the site and confirm your mailing address.
Soon you’ll receive the samples in the mail. It took less than a week for mine to come. I received 6 samples along with a product application guide for the regimen based off of my questionnaire results.
These samples are fabulous because not only do you get a good amount, but it’s a whole skincare routine with complete instructions.

I’m a big fan of Dove’s products. I have sensitive and dry skin, so their moisturizing products are great for me. Plus the brand’s mission to make women feel more beautiful and comfortable with themselves is great.
I need to go buy a new facial moisturizer, so I was browsing their site to see what they have available before I hit the stores, and I noticed there are some great coupons are featured on the site right now.
Here’s the ones I found:
- Save 3.50 on Dove Skin Vitalizer
- Save $2 on Dove Clinical Protection Antiperspirant
- Save $1 on Dove Freshburst Body Wash
- Save $1.50 on Dove Cream Oil Body Lotion
The site is also currently offering free samples of their Intense Damage Therapy and their Heat Defense Therapy.
Hey its Free turned me on to Dove Dimensions last week, which is basically an online community that if you sign up you receive coupons, samples, and other awesome savings from Dove, so if you’re a fan like I am, it’s worth taking the time to sign up. Signing up will instantly get you 2 coupons, $1.50 off any 2 Dove Anti-Perspirants and/or Dove Go Fresh Body Mists & $1.50 off Dove Cream Oil Body Lotion.
ETA 5/6/09 3:57PM: I just saw on Coupon Cravings that there is a $2 off printable coupon for the upcoming Dove Ultimate Visibly Smooth Anti-Perspirant.. I haven’t heard of this yet, but apparently it’s supposed to minimize the appearance of hair over time. Should be interesting.
Free (And Cheap) Mineral Make-up Samples
Out of all of the make-up available currently, mineral Make-up seems to be the trendiest–and often the most expensive. I know a lot of people haven’t had a chance to try it, worried about putting down the money for a product they have so little experience with.
Luckily there is another option: free samples! Unfortunately, it seems the landscape of free mineral make-up samples has changed a bit since I originally requested some samples a few years ago. They aren’t entirely free now–most sites charge some sort of shipping fee. Still, it’s a great deal to be able to try a variety of shades and brands for a cheaper price that buying a full size container of each one.
Here are a few options:
Everyday Minerals
Their Free Sample Make-up Kit includes 3 foundations, 1 blush, and 1 concealer. Select the color and formula you want and then drag it onto the cart to add it to your kit.
The kit is free, but there is a shipping charge. USPS First-Class Mail is $3.13, while Priority mail is $6.02.
Signature Minerals
Their free sampler pack includes 6 different samples in 5g sifter jars (except for eye colors, which come in baggies). Just select which 6 colors you want and add to the cart..
Customers can order multiple sample packs, so they can try every product once, but the catch is there’s only one sample pack per order. Each order does require a shipping fee of $5.35 for first class mail.
Lumiere Cosmetics
Their Try Me! Sample Baggie costs 1 cent, but for that penny you get 5 baggies including 1/4 tsp of any Foundations, Cheek Colors, Face & Body Enhancers, & Finishing Powders.
You can order one per order and there are additional shipping costs–the cheapest I saw was $3 for USPS First Class mail.
Joppa Minerals
Here you can select the 6 piece sampler set, where you can choose 2 different foundations, 2 blush/bronzers, 1 concealer, and 1 finishing silk. The kit costs $5, but first class shipping is free. There is a limit of 1 per order.
Another option they have is the 3 piece mini sampler, which just includes 2 foundations and 1 finishing silk in 3g jars. This costs $3.50 and you can order as many as you want per order to try out more than 3 shades. Again the first class shipping is free. So, if you want one 6 piece sampler and one 3 piece sampler, all you’ll pay is $8.50.
Ocean Mist Cosmetics
New customers can request a Try Me Sampler Kit, which includes 3 mineral foundation colors, 1 concealer, 1 blush, and 1 finishing powder, all in 5g jars.
Existing customers can purchase the kit for $3. There is a shipping charge of $5.30.
